I believe in that case, you’d be getting the SEO backlink juice. However, that’s more of a technical SEO question and I’m an on-page SEO. BUT based on what I do know of technical SEO the juice is all yours since it’s going to your Substack domain. Hope my response is helpful (and not confusing).
This is very useful. I haven’t looked into SEO for substack much and people have different opinions about it from what I read, aka thinking substack is not great to be found on Google vs a website
I've already tested it and my content ranks. It's not #1, but that's also b/c I haven't published a lot of SEO content yet. I didn't realize Substack has a whole ecosystem and how beneficial it is to engage within for growth. SEO content could be 1 of your distribution channels though. I was thinking about writing an article about how to SEO your Substack posts... would that interest you?
I think SEO in the context of substack would be incredibly well received. I haven’t come across anyone here who knows the ins and outs and shared practical knowledge.
I have the occasional new sub through Google (if substack is telling the truth) but haven’t focused on SEO at all and I’d guess it’s the majority here 😎
A great, in depth post!
Will be interesting to see how SEO works in an AI future.
Also, I was wondering, if I have a domain for my substack; if someone links to me, am I getting the SEO backlink juice, or is that going to substack?

makes perfect sense, I was just curious and hadn't really thought too much about it until my comment here! :)
