In September 2019, I moved from NYC to Amsterdam to explore my Dutch roots (my father is from Rotterdam). Six months later, the pandemic started and as a freelancer and entrepreneur, I was looking for a way to network and meet like-minded people, but it had to be social-distancing friendly. That’s when I started Hustle Amsterdam, an online magazine that tells the stories of entrepreneurs in Amsterdam. Initially, it started as a way to reach out to fellow small business owners, introduce myself, and offer value by interviewing people and publishing their stories on the HA blog. But it quickly gained traction and I started doing media partnerships with other local businesses, planning webinars in partnership with entrepreneurs I had interviewed, and inviting contributors to write for Hustle Amsterdam.
Unfortunately, after a little over a year, I lost momentum with Hustle Amsterdam, but for a good reason. My freelance content marketing business was growing, I was onboarding new clients, and I was busy creating content and “hustling” to make things happen for myself.
Now that my content marketing business is running smoothly, it’s time to share more stories about entrepreneurs. But I’m taking things to another level. Hustle Amsterdam is now called Hustle Global. It’s a newsletter that tells the stories of entrepreneurs around the world who are hustling to accomplish their dreams (big or small).
I love learning about people’s entrepreneurial journeys. How they started, the challenges they have faced and are currently facing, how they get s*&% done, and so much more. I find it fascinating and inspiring.
